A friend who works for a salvage yard found a disposable camera lodged in an old sofa, and got the film developed. He posted a Lost and Found ad in the classifieds, but no one responded. Sadly, from the date on the film, these flies are probably dust on a windowsill by now. But they live on in these photos, which offer a rare glimpse into the lives of mid-level business flies circa 2010.
Chips are a popular snack that can be found at most supermarkets, corner stores and gas stations. They are usually made from corn or potatoes* and come in a variety of flavors, including Plain, Salt & Vinegar, Sour Cream & Onion, and my current favorite: pico de gallo.
*There are also chips made from rice, carrots, beets, taro, bananas, or anything else that can be sliced or flattened, and then fried or baked until crisp** (see “buffalo chips”)
**in fact, the British call chips “crisps”.
