Chips are a popular snack that can be found at most supermarkets, corner stores and gas stations. They are usually made from corn or potatoes* and come in a variety of flavors, including Plain, Salt & Vinegar, Sour Cream & Onion, and my current favorite: pico de gallo.
*There are also chips made from rice, carrots, beets, taro, bananas, or anything else that can be sliced or flattened, and then fried or baked until crisp** (see “buffalo chips”)
**in fact, the British call chips “crisps”.
Interesting. Pico de Gallo must be quite good. It makes me wonder…are the Pico de Gallo chips/crisps a specialty food item?

Good question. The answer is yes! They are hard to find, but I don’t know if this is because they are sold out or just unpopular.
