She’s got a purse full of pennies for worthy causes, but particularly for causes supporting the wellbeing of insects and parasites. She’s a patron of the Free the Flies Foundation and has also donated generously to the Happy Hornets Home and the Society for Starving Pinworms & Neglected Nematodes.
A friend who works for a salvage yard found a disposable camera lodged in an old sofa, and got the film developed. He posted a Lost and Found ad in the classifieds, but no one responded. Sadly, from the date on the film, these flies are probably dust on a windowsill by now. But they live on in these photos, which offer a rare glimpse into the lives of mid-level business flies circa 2010.
