Philomena

Philomena

Philomena: resident of Apartment 313. On her way down to the laundry, she is suddenly transported back forty years to Mrs. Prince’s kitchen, cleaning shrimps. For a moment she can see the afternoon light slanting across Mrs Prince’s kitchen table, and feel the dense, flexible texture of the shrimps as she skins them with a special tool. She feels a pang of nostalgia at this vivid memory, but it quickly dissipates, and Philomena resumes her slow descent to the laundry.
